Jay Winters
Jay Winters is a respected theatrical and architectural lighting designer, who specializes in the creation and integration of thematic environments into the architectural model. By approaching lighting design with the imagination of an artist, enhanced by technical expertise, he has achieved recognition for delivering creative excellence. The breadth of his experience ranges from themed retail and attraction designs to production lighting for live events.
Jay earned his Master’s of Fine Arts degree in Performing Arts Design and Technology at the California Institute for the Arts after completing his studies at the University of Southern California, School of Theatre earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Jay’s diverse design experience was fostered from his years of freelance work on feature films, theatrical events, concerts, television productions and theme park attractions. Jay’s various freelance experiences refined his creative problem solving skills and further developed his attention to detail while displaying the ability to employ creative solutions to complete projects on time, and on budget. It was these freelance experiences that led to the formation of JK Design Group in 1989.
Julia Kirby
Julia Kirby has developed her skills within the lighting design field by way of education and professional experience in interior design. She graduated from California State University Northridge earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Consumer Sciences-Interior Option with a strong and active presence in the university’s department and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). Motivated by combining art and logic, Julia utilizes her experience of collaborating with designers from multiple construction disciplines on interior projects in order to devote the same attention to lighting design applications in exterior, retail, multi-family, and other commercial projects. Julia provides thoroughly coordinated design documentation and renderings through her extensive knowledge of AutoCad, Adobe, and SketchUp based software programs.
Barbara Indelicato
With an educational background in civil engineering from San Diego State University as well as a BFA from Otis College of Art and Design in architectural, landscape and interior design and awarded a lighting design certificate, Barbara brings a wealth of experience and hands-on lighting and systems design from everything from entertainment lighting for nightclubs and television, to permanent lighting installations for facilities of all types. Barbara also is proficient in creating architectural drawings on AutoCad and creating 3-D models and renderings in Rhinoceros 3D.
